As many as 562 people visited the Clean Soil Network’s Spring Meeting in Linköping, which took place on March 22-23, and SGI’s booth was crowded.
The Clean Soil Network (in Swedish Nätverket Renare Mark) is an independent interest organization for everyone who works with contaminated areas in Sweden. Every spring the Network hosts a conference open to all stakeholders within this area.
This year, LIFE-SOuRCE was represented at the conference by Oscar Skirfors (SLU) who participated with a poster about his PhD work and by SGI who presented the project in their booth at the exhibition area, by handing out flyers about the project and answering questions.
SGI’s booth was very well attended, which gave us many opportunities to talk about the LIFE-SOuRCE project and to discuss with stakeholders and experts how we together best can contribute to continued development of the work with contaminated areas. Carolina Ersson, SGI, was one of the participants and she was very pleased with everything from the speakers to the premises:
– “The spring meeting is unique in many ways, but something that really strikes you is the mix of competencies that contribute to making this conference so exciting. The participants are entrepreneurs, consultants, officials from authorities, lawyers, researchers, and students who all have their own ideas about how we should tackle the societal challenges of contaminated areas” she says.
Interest in the Spring Meeting has increased from year to year and this year the number of participants reached the record of 570 participants from last year. Next year, the Spring Meeting will be held in Karlstad, Sweden.
