Uppsala Water and Waste Ltd (UVA)

Uppsala Water and Waste Ltd (UVA) is a municipally owned provider of drinking water, wastewater, and biogas as well as solid waste and recycling services to approximately 230 000 persons in the Municipality of Uppsala, Sweden.

The company is responsible for development and operation of 14 drinking water treatment plants (DWTPs), 13 wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), and the Hovgården solid waste landfill including leachate treatment facility.  Additionally, the company is responsible for 650 km of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.

Uppsala Water and Waste Ltd. has over 10 years of experience working with PFAS contaminated groundwater, drinking water, landfill leachate and wastewater. Both operational and technical development of treatment processes for PFAS removal are key components of our work within our entire organization.

Uppsala Water and Waste Ltd.  manages the Swedish demo site and will lead the work within the demo site in Sweden with the start-up and operation of the prototype. The company will also provide access and support to the partners for the pilot installation and contribute with maintaining and solving technical problems.
