LIFE-SOuRCE is hosting one of the technical tours at NORDROCS, which will be held on September 9-12, 2024, in Uppsala, Sweden. NORDROCS is an international conference organized by Nätverket Renare Mark Sweden, MUTKU Finland, ATV Jord og Grunnvann Denmark, and Miljøringen Norway. The conference aims to share knowledge and foster new relationships among professionals in the field of contaminated sites in the Nordic countries and Europe. The conference attracts researchers, consultants, contractors, laboratories, as well as representatives from governmental organizations and regulatory authorities.

The program includes technical courses, scientific presentations, and two technical tours. One of these tours is dedicated to demonstrating the PFAS remediation technologies we are working with within LIFE-SOuRCE. The tour will begin with a visit to the laboratory at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Uppsala. Here, the scientists working on the LIFE-SOuRCE project will present their results and techniques. After lunch, there will be a field visit to the LIFE SOuRCE pilot for PFAS treatment at Hovgården waste management facility, located just outside Uppsala. During the field visit, we will demonstrate the treatment train of LIFE SOuRCE, which combines  foam fractionation, electrochemical oxidation and phytoremediation.
